School Chaplain
Edward Public School Chaplain is Susan Strong.
Aim of program
The Chaplaincy program aims to provide general wellbeing support to students and their families at our school.
Participation
Programs supported by the School Chaplain, and in consultation with the class teachers, are recommended by the School Learning and Support Team and participation is voluntary.
Our School Chaplain works with students in various contexts of group work, structured activities and provides informal support. The Chaplain will mainly be supporting students in the classroom.
Parents and carers who do not wish for their children to participate in this program are asked to please advise the school.
Feedback and complaint procedures
It is the right of the community to give positive and negative feedback and to have any complaints dealt with fairly, reasonably, impartially and confidentially. The program follows all feedback and complaints procedures as set out by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) program guidelines which can be found at: http://deewr.gov.au/national-school-chaplaincy-and-student-welfare-program-complaints-code
Community consultation
Consultations and updates on the Chaplaincy Program are given at P & C meetings and in the school newsletter. Feedback from students and parents, staff and the school community in general is reported to the school Learning and Support Team.
